Adak PADK serves the community and island of ADAK AK. This was a major US Naval base supporting 6,500 personnel and their families until the 80s when it was closed. The base and infrastructure were assigned to the local native Alaskans. The town is now largely in disrepair due to the extreme weather and prohibitive cost of maintainance. The airfield is maintained by local city authorities.
NOTAM: ILS and approach lighting are available
NOTAM: Weather is a factor, It is the Aleutians!
Thanks to ColinJ and TRFSTO for their libraries

A big thank you to all the simmers who have commented about my Aleutian sceneries! As long as you want them I'll do my best to comply with your suggestions. The issue I have is the poor quality of Bing photogrammetry in MSFS, but I'll see what can be done
Cheers to you all!

Superb job! Great detail, and much needed in the Aleutians. Keep these coming please. On your way east, have a look at Nikolski (PAKO) and Cape Field (PAUA).

Thank youj for doing PADK. In 1986 I was a passenger on a United 747 on its way from KJFK to Tokyo Narita. We landed threre to offload an ailing passenger to the Naval hospital. What an experience for those on board and those in the village. We were not allowed to deplane as it was still a naval facility. Took United around three hours to negotiate how to purchase fuel from the Navy. We had turned around after an hour out over the Pacific. We were on board that 747 for a full 24 hours as we had left KJFK two hours late, which was 2 3/4 hours after we had boarded. That 747 was 100% full. Not one empty seat!

Thanks a bunch for this. My dad was stationed at NAS ADAK back in the early 90s. I was a pretty small kid at the time so I don't have a whole lot of memories, but my mom and dad have very fond memories of their time there in the Navy.

Another great Aleutian destination! I'm with dimkzr--keep heading east to Cold Bay and Sand Point! 😊

Thanks!
A pity we have to install a gigabyte worth of libraries to use it, but I've been waiting for a decent PADK scenery for a while, so I have no choice but to comply 😊
Chances you can continue eastward and create PACD?
