📖 Instructions

Download the latest release of "Toolbar Pushback"
Extract the zip file into the community folder (remove previous version of this add-on before updating!)
Press the Pushback Icon in the Flight Simulator Toolbar
Alternatively press the classic "shift + p"
Toggle the add-on window by pressing "right ctrl + p"
Note: Make sure no other pushback apps are running, as this may interfere with Toolbar Pushback (thanks to @BlueHomeland for pointing out)

🎧 Interactive Pushback Audio

In order for the interactive pushback comms to work please make sure that the folder name of the add-on in the community folder equals "ambitiouspilots-toolbar-pushback". Add-On managers may rename the folder, which would make it impossible for MSFS to find the required files.

Used to work for a long time, but having an issue where the airplane gets lifted so high that it gets a tailstrike while being pushed back. I even turn off the lift option and still the same problem persist.

If anyone is desperate for a fix with the memory leak issues and bad fps after a long flight, a POSSIBLE solution may be watching "2020 fs'er" channel on youtube who released a video called "Msfs2020*MEMORY LEAK Issue & Large Fps Spikes*Possible fix & Amazing tool for memory Handling!". They provide info on a tool called Islc tool that can manage system memory better and prevent memory spikes causing bad fps.

I've tested it and the results SO FAR look promising until asobo look into the memory leaks eventually (apparently they've started and have a good idea what's causing it so a fix should be in soon (big emphasis on soon)).

Otherwise the pushback tool is a fantastic tool that makes pushback a joy rather than a chore. I also adore ground vehicle control from the UI such as calling the stairs which don't leave until I tell them to rather than calling them from ATC only for the stairs to disconnect after 30 seconds.

If the above solution doesn't fix the fps/memory leak issues then a possibility could be allowing the mod to go open source to allow other developers to look into what's causing the issue?

I've just done a multi turn around flight in the pmdg 737 from KSEA-PAKT-PASI-PAJN with a long haul stretch and I'm very pleased to report NO fps drops, it ran so smoothly, first time I've had so much fun on a multi hop flight. The lslc tool had to intervene 106 times to prevent memory leakages and fps drops so it works perfectly. The tool allows me to run this mod without memory leaks on my system.

Fantastic app in did, but I think it produces some kind of new problem, some aircraft (PMDG, BAe 146 and Maddog X at least) get stuck in the apron, the wheels rotate, even accelerate when you throttle, but the planes don't move. This is after you start the pushback. Could be related with the parking brake? Anyone got this problem? Thank you

any plans on making fenix compatible? there is an invisible tug that causes my descent path to go crazy, i've confirmed this is a toolbar pushback issue

(edit: it causes a lot of performance and stability issues no matter what aircraft for some people. i would love to see this fixed, it's an awesome tool)

Started having system crashes with KernelBase.dll error..... havent had a single error since removing this addon. Perhaps something to look into cuz this is a great addon and look forward to getting it back.

When loading the simulator with the fenix A320, warn that your addon is not compatible.

It works fine with the Fenix. It is a lame attempt from Fenix to blame their terrible performance on a 3rd party. I have the same FPS with and without Toolbar Pushback - the Fenix is an FPS hog.

I can't say I agree, I don't think fenix ever said it hampers perf, they said it's incompatible and causes some issues with efb pushback. Also with fenix, and fbw for that matter, fps is stable for me too at the start of a flight, but when it comes to landing in a couple of hours, fps and perf consistency drops significantly. After reloading the sim, if I take off from that same airport again, the perf is much better. This happens with other aircrafts too, md82, 146 pro, 737-700 for me. After removing the mod, i don't get this issue with hour long flights. Now the root cause may or may not be this mod, it can be in msfs itself, but at least on my system, it triggers the issue. Otherwise I really like the mod. I have been using this since it came out. But the problem started with the preplanning update, which as a feature is great by the way.

i dont know why some (very few) people made up stuff and are bitter about the fenix. Its an amazing plane and this pushback mod is also an amazing tool. So far I experience loss of perf with the mod after few hours, like most people. It seems that its triggered by the pushback planner map. If I remove the mod, my perf are back to normal, including when flying the fenix. While waiting for an update, im using the payware fs2crew pushback manager wich work fine (and its works with the fenix too..)

performance isnt the only issue. in my case, i've noticed severe "bumps" in my descent path, which was a result of toolbar pushback not disconnecting the tug correctly, so there was basically an invisible truck there. did not happen with toolbar pushback removed. so yeah, i would like to see this compatible with fenix.

correct, the issue is it not 'disconnecting' from Fenix. Literally, the actual weight of the tug stays attached even though visually the tug is gone. It will require more power during climb. In idle descent, the plane can only deal with the increasing descent speed by oscillating pitch. This is a know issue and is talked about on their forum and I think the devs may be doing a 'work around' . I do hope that this can be fixed.

Fantastic app, but when I preplan automatically the plane bar either disappears after a few seconds and if I close and reopen the app I don't see it anymore, or it doesn't even dialogue in the cockpit.

The manual pushback works fine for me but not the automatic. When I try to use the automatic it brings up the screen to set the desired pushback position of the aircraft, but the "silouette" of the plane disappears after about 30 seconds (maybe less). If I cancel and try again the same thing happens. I finally have given up trying and just do the manual pushback now.

I have a problem where the Icon is not in my Toolbar, when i press SHIFT + p the pushback truck connects with my plane but i got still no window. I tried a clean install the mod and the game but still the same problem. I have no other mods intalled except the Pushback and the FenixA320.

How to install Toolbar Pushback?

Please follow these steps:

Why is the Interactive Pushback Audio not working?

Apron

Make sure you start at a gate where a pushback tug is available. Also, when pushback is done and you've dismissed the tug, MSFS won't trigger another tug, depending on the distance you've moved away from the original gate.

Simulator Audio Settings

Ensure that in the general simulator settings the volume level for "Voices" is not muted. Move the slider to 100 and fine tune when the pushback audio is audible.

Experimental State

The Interactive Pushback Audio is currently available only for airliners and the voices are in English language. As soon as this new feature is production ready, the audio will be translated and more features added.

Can I disable the Interactive Pushback Audio?

Yes, simply disable the "Interactive Pushback Audio" option in the Options tab of Toolbar Pushback. This will make the add-on behave like it did before this new feature was added.

Can I disable the Nosewheel Lift Simulation?

Yes, simply disable the "Simulate Nosewheel Lift" option in the Options tab of Toolbar Pushback. The Interactive Pushback Audio will adapt the voice commands accordingly.

How to perform a clean install of Toolbar Pushback?

Steps to perform a clean installation of Toolbar Pushback:

1. Backup your community folder

2. Completely empty out the community folder

3. Start Microsoft Flight Simulator and hop into a random flight

4. Close the sim once loaded into the flight

5. Install the latest version of Toolbar Pushback into the community folder and make sure the add-on folder name in the community folder equals: ambitiouspilots-toolbar-pushback

6. Run the !ENABLE_INTERACTIVE_AUDIO.bat file located in the add-on folder

7. Run the sim again and load into a random flight

8. When everything works, close the sim and restore the other backed up add-ons / mods

Does Toolbar Pushback have a performance impact?

Toolbar Pushback is not process heavy and is designed to run only when your aircraft is grounded. After takeoff the add-on is in standby mode waiting for you to land the aircraft and the pushback planner is shut down completely. So this add-on does not cause any performance degradation on (long haul) flights with this add-on enabled. Pinpointing the culprit for performance issues is not easy. However, a possible reason for performance issues might be a bug in the file system of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Even Xbox users complain about performance and CTD issues. Performing a clean installation of Toolbar Pushback is recommended as it forces a refresh of the sim file system. Many users reported success with this method. What to do when Aircraft Icon or Path disappear on Pushback Planner?

If this happens, simply resize the Pushback Planner window a little bit, which will trigger a map reset but leaves your planned route in tact and restores the Aircraft Icon and Path.

Why won't my Planned Pushback start?

This is when Toolbar Pushback is in non-audio mode. This happens when the Interactive Pushback Audio is not available in certain situations. Then the pushback procedure is a little different.

After requesting pushback, release the parking brakes and press the "HOLD" button to start the push.
