The Frisian Islands - a historical line of the Twin Otter
In Germany, the Twin Otter was used primarily for North Sea island service, including by the airlines OLT (Ostfriesisches Lufttaxi), General Air, HADAG Air and Holiday Express, as it could take off and land on short runways of 1,200 feet or more. These airlines, which were based in Hamburg and Bremen, no longer exist today. However, it is my pleasure to recreate at least some of these flight routes from the 1960s and 1970s with the Twin Otter, when GPS did not exist.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to create a star-shaped routing as a bush trip, starting from one or two airports in different directions. From there, this trip is only partially authentic. The flight schedules were such that the flights went, for example, from Hamburg, to one of the North Sea islands and back to Hamburg, then to the next island and back again.
So you will fly from different airports, with changing numbers of passengers, to some North Sea islands and prove your ability to land even on short runways. Have fun with it wishes Koschi.
Specification:
- The trip has a length of 582 NM, with 9 legs.
- You will fly with a DHC-6/300 Twin Otter. Since the airplane carries 14 passengers and is loaded differently at each airfield, which affects the flight characteristics, I do not recommend exchanging it for another airplane.
- The trip is translated into all MSFS languages except Chinese and Japanese. The basic language is German. The other languages are machine translated and may contain errors. If anyone has a better translation, feel free to send it to me.
- The GPS is usable, but there is no pre-drawn GPS course available. Fly VFR according to the instructions in the NAVLOG.
- The flight is not complete until the engine and battery are off and the handbrake is applied. Taxi to a gate or parking area to do this.
- The refuel button is only displayed on airfields with a refueling station. Always make sure you have enough fuel in your tank.

I do not know why, but loading the BT sets the frame in Hamburg to unplayable 5fps... Loading a free flight in EDDH is normal as expected. Do not know what this causes.

Hello FiveBirds,
I am sorry. I can't understand what you described. For me the frame rate is normal.
Did you change anything in the loading? The aircraft should be loaded and unloaded automatically.
Greetings, Koschi
