The P-51D from Aeroplane Heaven is required. This package contains two alternate configuration files, one for the flight model and one for the engine. The changes are many, see the notes contained inside the zip file.
Engine and propeller changes include,
Prop diameter, reduction gear ratio, engine displacement, auto mixture, fuel consumption, power output, supercharger function
Airframe changes include,
geometry corrections, parasite drag, flap and gear drag
To install, unzip the contained folder into your community folder.

Hey, I just installed this on the latest update and at max throttle the manifold pressure was pulsating back and forth wildly. Any ideas?

It's the manifold pressure regulator. Go into the engines.cfg file and change the manifold pressure regulator threshold to 42. That should stop the oscillation. I'm working on an update with the latest CFD stuff from SU9 and 10. It's changes lots, so need to do lots of testing....but I'm working on it. Thanks

You can see the elevator trim on the lower right, about 10% nose up at takeoff, 30% nose up at landing, aileron and rudder neutral

If you lock the tailwheel, you will need full right rudder input until it becomes effective, which is fairly early in the run. Keep a little back stick and it should be no problem. I think I reduced the steering angle of the tailwheel quite a bit. It will pivot around a wingtip at slow taxi speed. If you need to turn tighter, use differential brakes.

Was nice to see this especially how the fuel in the fuse tank behind the pilolt throws out the CG. That was a common thing that pilots of this bird we're too fond of and always made sure they burnt fuel from that tank first.

This is a definite improvement over the stock flight model. It no longer feels like there is a speedbrake on during landings. Takeoffs seem a little more tricky, but nothing we can't handle...practice. Thank you for this mod. I'll be flying the AH Mustang much more now.
