I was researching the backstory of Virgin Atlantic’s flying lady logo and I came across some very interesting stories about the artists who created the new “flying icons” for Virgin Atlantic. Award winning illustrator Toby Tinsley and his team consisting of Fay Dalton, Mike Griggs, and Michael Adamidis, were behind the creation of these new designs, which are meant to show a diverse range of men and women representing modern Britain.
Virgin Atlantic’s flying icons made their debut on the Airbus A350-1000 in 2019 and 2020 but after seeing the level of detail, creativity, and diversity that went into these new designs, I was so inspired that I had to create this fictional/non-fictional livery for my favourite new aeroplanes to fly in MSFS 2020, the Cessna CJ4 Citation with Working Title CJ4 mod.
So, while we wait for MSFS and Digital Flight Dynamics to officially release the A350-1000, here is my Virgin Atlantic CJ4 "Rey" release which showcase the flying icon "Rey". I will be releasing all five of the new designs in both original and casual designs, and I’m still searching for a high-resolution image of the flying icon Aria, which is the official flying icon for flights between London and Delhi (incidentally, Aria is the name of Sir Richard Branson’s great, great, grandfather).
These liveries are compatible with the Working Title CJ4 mod, and the aeroplane’s call signs have been removed so ATC will refer to the plane as “Cessna”. The wings are glossy white as well. This is a drag-n-drop livery so you should be able to drag it into your Community folder and fly straight away.
