Happy Bottom Riding Club (1935-1953) also known as the Rancho Oro Verde, was a ranch, restaurant and hotel operated by female aviator Pancho Barnes near Edwards Air Force Base.
Barnes and the club became known to the general public through the 1983 film adaptation of "The Right Stuff" based on the book by Tom Wolfe.
When the U.S. Air Force intended to buy the club to extend its runways, a long and contentious series of lawsuits ensued. Barnes won the lawsuits, but the club was destroyed by fire in 1953.
The reconstruction of the airfield and the ranch, which is currently very simple, is simply meant to recreate a bit of the atmosphere that was conveyed by the movie "The Right Stuff". It's not easy to get appropriate footage, and there are still missing photos of the hangar from the west side or even from the inside. Such places I have then simply with some fantasy represented. Since I would like to rebuild the ranch more exactly, any help with pictures would be welcome. Furthermore, people of the 50s in this area are missing, but unfortunately I have not found anything yet. I would like to get that. Some things like cars, barrels, ... are bought, and I would be glad about a small donation.
Here I would also like to thank Randy, who already tried to rebuild it for FS 2004(?) and could help with pictures (unfortunately I can't find your e-mail address anymore).
Also here the best thanks to my good friend Maggi who has persuaded me to the whole project and has driven again and again.
Unfortunately I couldn't find an ICAO code anywhere and so I just used HBRC for Happy Bottom Riding Club.
As always for the installation just unzip the download and put the content into the community folder.
Have fun exploring and an emotional journey into the early era of test pilots and record flights.

Version 1.01
- the little "attention-cabin" at the access road is elaborated
- new farmland west of the ranch
- slightly reduced the tiling effect. the tiling effect doesn't go away completely, and i would like to have the area around the square a bit more homogeneous, but with the assobo textures that's hardly feasible. I'll keep an eye on it, maybe a better solution can be found
- minor correction at both hangars
Version 1.02
Chanched the livery of the DC-3 into an USAF Livery. please download it here:

I'm not a scenery designer, so I applaud you for your efforts, but it would be much more immersive were it not for the obvious tiling of the ground textures in and around the airfield...

Saw this only in the Screenshots I made - never before in the game. And I am wondering about it. But I will show that I can fix it. thank you
