Douglas DC-3 Allegheny Airlines N151A livery request updated to a 1950s Green scheme, requested by Capt avallillo
This new release is updated to better represent the very dark green stripe used in the 1950s on Allegheny Airlines fleet, thanks to Capt Avallilo for the kind messages and help discovering this detail, He actually went on this plane back in 1958, his help is much appreciated. Various photographs show the scheme in green but due to age the green seems lighter than what is shown on memorabilia from the time.
Link below is to my Black Stripe livery of the same aircraft, it seems Allegheny went through various colour scheme changes in the stipe colour over many years. None retrofit cockpit version only

As always, very slight modification of fusalage spine black stripe tail / fusalage modified slightly narrower than reality do to fault in the model.
If I have missed somthing please let me know as there are very few photos of this plane available, i will update
Version 1.2 now includes the retrofit cockpit version by request
This is the best looking livery available for the DC-3. Could you please make it compatible with the retrofit varient?

Another really great one Paul. I don't remember the green livery (all of my flights back in the 1950's were in ones with the blue as I remember) but from the many pictures available today, planes with the green certainly existed.
Keep up the great very accurate work!

Perfection! That's what the one I flew in back in 1958 looked like. I still have the Junior Pilot Certificate that the crew gave me on that occasion. I ended up flying for AA for 31 years, and after I retired the circle was closed when AA and USAir (Allegheny Airlines as was) merged.
