This is a repaint for the excellent FlyingIron Simulations Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6. The repaint depicts Bf 109Ga-2 'White A' of the Romanian Royal Air Force (Forțele Aeriene Regale Române—FARR) as flown by Capt. Av. Constantin ‘Bâzu’ Cantacuzino of the 57th Squadron (Escadrila 57) of the 7th Fighter Group (Grupul 7 Vânătoare) between April and May 1944. This Bf 109Ga-2 was assembled at IAR Brașov. With this aircraft, on April 15, 1944, ‘Bâzu’ claimed one B-24 Liberator, on April 28 one Yak fighter and in May he claimed two Soviet Airacobras and four Yak fighters. This particular Bf 109Ga-2 ‘White A’ has its tail decorated with 42 white victory bars accounting for the 42 victories gained by the spring of 1944 by Bâzu who finished the war as the top Romanian ace of WW2 with 69 victories.
