King Airways Virtual Airline
Are you ready to fly for a different kind of virtual airline? Do you enjoy flying the Beechcraft King Air (or comparable aircraft)? If so, then welcome to King Airways, an offline Virtual Airline designed specifically for pilots that fly the Beechcraft King Air (or similar) aircraft. What makes the King Airways Virtual Airline different from others?
- King Airways provides two assignment options:
- Option 1 enables all of your assignments with automated co-pilot and ATC audio instructions. Your co-pilot handles all radio communications and transponder settings. As the plot-in-command, you follow the instructions given to complete your flights successfully.
- Option 2 is provided for pilots that want to use a third-party online ATC system like VATSIM and PilotEdge, or offline systems like Pilot2ATC and the ATC system built into Microsoft Flight Simulator.
- There is no “ranking”. You will start as a senior pilot, but this means you are expected to know your aircraft and aircraft systems, how to setup the FMS, and how to fly IFR approaches in IMC.
- Each flight assignment is conducted in specific weather conditions. You will not be able to change the weather or flight start times.
- Other aircraft liveries and comparable aircraft can be configured for your assignments at any time.
Additional Information:
King Airways operates out of 5 different hubs across the United States (Alaska, Chicago, Denver, Miami and Seattle). When you register as a new King Airways pilot, you will select one of these hubs where you will start your career. Each King Airways hub includes 10 flight assignments, for a total of 50 flights. After completing 5 assignments for a hub, you will be given the opportunity to change hubs if desired.
The King Airways Portal will provide a description of your current assignment, including start time, weather conditions, distance, and duration of flight. You will be expected to use your own flight planning tools to gather any additional information needed about your flight before boarding your aircraft.
After landing at your destination airport, you will be given a “Flight Registration Code”. You will need to record or remember this code until you can return to the King Airways Portal and enter your code to register completion of your flight. After this, you will receive your next assignment, and you will continue onward from there. A Help Desk is provided in case you forget your code, or have any problems while flying with King Airways.
A short Flight Operations Manual is provided that explains everything you need to know to enjoy your time with King Airways.
NOTE: All assignments for the King Airways Virtual Airline have been pre-configured to use the Black Square Analog King Air 350 aircraft. However, if you have not purchased this aircraft, you can easily change to the ASOBO version, or select another comparable aircraft to fly.
There are no dependencies associted with the King Airways Virtual Airline.
INCLUDED:
The ZIP file for this add-on contains the following items:
- A ‘READ ME FIRST.pdf’ file (you should obviously read this before you do anything)
- A ’Flight Operations Manual’ (it is highly recommended that you read this before registering as a King Airways pilot)
- A ‘setup.exe’ program that will install the King Airways Portal and all flight assignments
- A special Black Square Analog King Air livery folder
CREDITS:
All missions were created using the BushMissionGen utility created and distributed by f99mlu.
**NOTE: Version 1.3.0 corrects a couple of major errors in the King Airways Portal. If you have previously installed the program, completed some assignments, and then install this new version you will unfortunately lose any progress you have previously made. If you want to quickly get back to where you were, contact the Help Desk and request a list of the Flight Registration Codes. You can use these to register all previously completed flights. Sorry for the inconvenience.
NOTE: If you have previously installed the King Airways Virtual Airline main program, updates can be found at https://flightsim.to/file/64953/king-airways-virtual-airline-update.
