Brest Airport is one of the largest civil airports in Belarus. Construction of the current airport (12 km from the city) began in 1976. However, it took 10 years for the airport to be fully developed and the airport began full operation only in 1986;
international status was assigned to Brest in 1999 (other data from 1993), when not only planes from the former USSR, but also from Europe began to fly here (for example, in 1991 the Brest-Vladivostok airline operated for some time; and on December 21, 1990 the first international flight Brest-Bangkok).
The airport's terminal complex meets all modern standards; a hotel with 50 beds has been opened at the terminal. The airport's capacity is 500 passengers per hour. Currently, there are flights from Brest Airport to Kaliningrad, Moscow, as well as charter flights to Antalya and Burgas.
