2.) Open the PMDG Operations Center v2 (OC2) application.
3.) Under the Aircraft and Liveries option on the top menu bar, select Livery Utilities.
4.) On the left side, select Microsoft Flight Simulator under Simulator, PMDG 737-800 under Installed Products, and PMDG 737-800 under Variants / models.
5.) In the bottom left corner of the OC2, click the Install from PTP file button.
6.) Browse to the directory where you unzipped the alaska_salmon_737.ptp or alaska_salmon_737_no_cabin.ptp file.
7.) Open the file, the OC2 will install the repaint into your Community/pmdg-aircraft-738-liveries folder.
8. ) If you have any issues with installation, you can contact PMDG support on their forums or their support website https://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/
9. ) For optimal accuracy, makes sure a few options are selected in the FMC equipment page. This should be set automatically upon installation, but in case not make sure the SatCom 2 dome is on top, no PIP selected, and original landing lights (not LED) are selected. If not sure how to do this, please read how to do so in the manual.
History
In 2005, Alaska Airlines partnered with Alaska Fisheries to promote their wild caught salmon over farm raised fish. They repainted one of their 737-400 aircraft (N792AS) into the world's largest flying fish. Called the "Salmon-Thirty-Salmon", this aircraft was eventually repainted into the airlines traditional livery in 2011. The following year, Alaska Airlines again painted one of their 737 aircraft (N559AS) into a similar livery, this time on the 737-800 variant. This "Salmon-Thirty-Salmon II" has salmon colors for it's Alaska Airlines logo on the fuselage as well as special painted scales that shimmer in the light, giving it a realistic appearance. The aircraft's livery was designed by artist Mark Boyle, who has also designed several other of Alaska's special liveries.
This repaint was made with permission from PMDG per their paint kit EULA.
Many thanks go to the team at PMDG for creating this excellent aircraft and repaint kit for Microsoft Flight sImulator.
This repaint was tested with close to Ultra settings. Appearance may vary depending on your simulator settings.
Please message me if you have any comments or suggestions. Hope you enjoy!

That looked very fun, thanks for sharing, albeit a little scary with that mountain! Hope you enjoyed it, I added a fix today to the wing reflections, should look better now.

Wonderful livery, can't appreciate more to its detail and design itself.
Thank you for sharing your great work!

Very nice detail. Hard one to paint.

This one is really cool. 😊 Lots of details.
But seemingly it has the double of filesize compared to the version before 😞
I understand, you have changed some things etc but 380 mb compared to 662 is a big difference. I find it a bit sad that nowadays every livery seems to be nearly a gb in filesize. Do you guys really have that much space? ^^
Yesterday it would have been 5 stars, today its 4.
Anyway, the livery itself is really nice.

Thanks Senchay! The textures are compressed, but still take up a lot of disk space. Adding the cabin textures increased as file size unfortunately as they are large files, at 8k resolution since it's one file for the whole cabin interior, as well as all the individual seat textures. I could lower the resolution but then it would look awful. The cabin divider is already at a low resolution and looks terrible already. It is these textures which are contributing to the large file size.
And I understand about disk space, and I know a lot of simmers don't use the cabin either. I will upload version without the custom cabin textures, so if you are concerned about disk space, it won't make as much of an impact. Thanks for the input, I'll be adding this soon!
Edit: I just uploaded the new version without the cabin textures.

Looks like there's a config error as this livery currently installs into the 737-liveries folder instead of the 738-liveries folder. Thought you'd like to know.

Thanks for letting me know. Is the PMDG Op Center placing the textures in the 737-700 folder instead of the -800 folder? I don't have that version so can't test that unfortunately, but will test the file again. It installed correctly on my system.

Superb quality really nice done thank you! . Would be really nice if you could make other Alaska special liveries 😊

Not being rude, but I believe the reg for this aircraft is really N559AS, not N599AS.
Emulations30 author
Not rude at all, thanks for letting me know! The reg # has been fixed on the website, the actual repaint has the correct number.

We never had the Salmon for NGXu... Thankfully, the Salmon has landed!

I've been learning to flight sim, spent thousands probably, and practiced for years in the available commercial airliners, just so I could eventually fly around in the salmon. Dreams do come true. Thanks for creating this.
