Perhaps the 'new Mach Loop', LFA17 is a very frequently flown low level system in the Lake District, Cumbria. A stones throw from RAF Leeming, it serves as a perfect hub to take the JustFlight Hawk T.1/A for a spin.
This sortie will take you from 100 Squadron's former apron at RAF Leeming (EGXE) and depart straight into the low fly from Runway 34 heading for Mercedes Junction. Road features abount, the M6 will be your trusty guide to the area around Morecambe Bay and the entry to LFA17 via Lake Windermere. Made famous by it's vibrant spotting community, you'll pass through Dunmail Raise - frequented by plenty of photographers. Be sure to take it tight to the left of Great How past Smaithwaite for the left turn into Derwent water for the lead in to Rothswaite. After Rothswaite, be mindful of tight turns as once you overbank the pass at the base of Great Gable, the side of Lingmell comes at you very fast. A 4G pull from a wide lead in is advised at no more than 420 knots! Upon reaching Wast Water, some loose freenav will see you intersect your entry path at Ambleside to follow Kirkstone Pass into Patterdale and Ullswater. Southbound on the M6 until Sedbergh, you'll backtrack previous progress to Leeming and the end of your sortie.
Should you wish, at Ambleside you can repeat Dunmail and loop back round for multiple passes.
